Peter Lincoln Schelp, age 63, of 821 Country Club Drive E., Quincy, died Monday, November 14, 2005 in his home.
He was born September 30, 1942 in Quincy, IL the son of Kenneth and Jane Lincoln Schelp. On December 18, 1965 he married Lynn Eckrote in Western Springs, IL. She survives.
Pete was in the securities industry for 25 years, and opened Hallmark Homes in Taylor, MO in 1998. He was a member of Quincy Rotary Club, Bodley Lodge # 1, A. F. & A. M., Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine, and the Mississippi Valley Ridge Riders Club. He had been an Eagle Scout and served on the Quincy High School Football Chain Gang for many years.
Survivors also include two children, Jane Mann and her husband John and their children Mark, Paul and Cate, and Spencer Schelp; a brother Stuart Schelp and his wife Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial service will be Friday, November 18, 2005 at 3:00 pm in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1-3 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Mississippi Valley Council Boy Scouts of America or The Crossing.
