Norma E. Hendricks, age 95 of 418 Washington, Quincy, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 4:24 a.m. in Sunset Home.

She was born on September 25, 1910 in Bowen, Kentucky the daughter of Charles W. and Louetta Ingrum Bowen. On August 16, 1931 she married William Arden Hendricks in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1968.

She worked for the International Shoe Company from 1940-1948. She then worked for the Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Company from 1948-1975. She then spent her time sitting with the elderly until her retirement. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Harry Hendricks and his wife, Essie of Quincy; a granddaughter, Cheri Meleney of Quincy; a stepdaughter, Linda Reckers and her husband, Steve of Chicago, IL; a stepson, William Hendricks, Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Quincy; three step-grandchildren: Elizabeth Reckers of Chicago, IL; Stephanie Hendricks of Quincy; and Tyler Hendricks of Quincy; a sister, Mattie Lee Alexander of Quincy; a brother, Garrett (Jack) Bowen of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Goldie Kramer and Eunice Bleakley; and two brothers: Russell W. and Glen Bowen.

Services will be Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Morwell officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Union United Methodist Church, or Sunset Home.
