Loretta "Sue" Ward, 63, of Kentland, IN died, at 10:17 am, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

She was born in Hannibal, MO on August 29, 1950 to the late Albert Flynn and Stella (Whitley) Flynn. She survives. Sue graduated from Quincy High School in 1968 and from Gem City Business College in 1970. She later studied accounting at Danville Area Community College. On December 20, 1970, Sue married Mel Ward in Quincy, IL. He survives.

She resided in many places throughout her life beginning in Quincy, IL. She had also lived in Pleasant Hill, IL, Wheaton, IL, Danville, IL, and then moved to Kentland where she resided until the time of her death. She was previously a member of the Kentland Chapter of Tri-Kappa. She was also a member of Hull Methodist Church in Hull, IL and the Danville, IL Tennis Club.

Sue worked her entire life until she moved to Kentland in 2000. She had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at a variety of businesses in the areas she had lived in. She was also a licensed realtor for several years. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, tennis, and exercising. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sue is survived by her mother, Stella; husband, Mel Ward of Kentland; 2 daughters, Shea Kiessling (husband: John) of River Forest, IL, Meegan Cramer (husband: Brian) of Dallas, TX; 4 sisters, Alice Rupert (husband: Glen) of Peoria, IL, Eleen Bennett (husband: Cecil) of NC, Mary Jackson (husband: Derrill) of Palmyra, MO, Jean Lish (husband: Jack) of Barry, IL; 3 brothers, Albert "Bud" Flynn (wife: Clare) of Isabella, MO, Harry "Sam" Pipkin (wife: Billie) of Quincy, IL, Ronald "Skip" Pipkin of Quincy, IL; 6 grandchildren, Sophia Kiessling, Isabella Kiessling, Natalia Kiessling, Evyn Cramer, Drew Cramer, and Cam Cramer. Sue was also extremely close to her in-laws and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella Wilkey and Margaret Zaerr and 1 brother, Alan "Butch" Flynn.

Friends may call from 4pm - 8pm (CST), Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland and from 4pm- 8pm (CST), Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Hull Methodist Church in Hull, IL with Pastor Sheila Kelly officiating.

Interment will follow in Akers Chapel Cemetery in Hull, IL.

Memorial contributions may be given in Sue's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
