Myrtle Rozella Friedhoff, of Caseyville, Illinois, formerly of 1426 Hampshire, Quincy; Durham, North Carolina; and Lewistown, Missouri died on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 6:10 p.m. at Caseyville Nursing Home in Caseyville, Illinois.
She was born on September 22, 1931 in Kinderhook, Illinois the daughter of Foster and Elva Gallaher Whitaker. She was married to Robert Silman in Palmyra, Missouri on July 11, 1950. Later on December 26, 1959 she married Richard C. Friedhoff in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1992.
She had been a 20 year employee of the Motorola Company as an instructor. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons: Robert Silman, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; and John Friedhoff of Maywood, Missouri; four daughters: Anna Marie Korte and her husband, James of St. Louis, Missouri; Debbie Niehaus and her husband, Roger of Fowler, Illinois; Charlotte Johnson and her husband, Larry of Independence, Virginia; and Susan Augustine and her husband, Gaylord of Pacific Junction, Iowa; twelve grandchildren: Samantha, Amanda, and James Joseph II Korte of St. Louis, Missouri; Heather, Daniel, and Robert III Silman of Imperial, Missouri; Joshua and Jacob Bunte and Jaclyn Finger and her husband, Brian of Fowler, Illinois; Tracy Wiewel and her husband, Tony of Quincy; Lindsay Niehaus of Quincy; Elizabeth Augustine of Pacific Junction, Iowa; and John Friedhoff, Jr. of Taylor, Missouri; three brothers: Russell Whitaker of Naperville, Illinois; Gearold "Buck" Whitaker of Quincy; and Samuel Whitaker of Quincy; three sisters: Maureen Baugher and her husband, Warren of Quincy; Glenna Daugherty of Quincy; and Lois Bange of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lucy Whitaker.
Services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. V. Lee Amsler officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Payson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to University of Missouri at Columbia for Cancer Research.
