Dorothy Ellen Durst, age 71, of 1330 North 12th, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 9:10 pm. in Blessing Hospital.
She was born February 18, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of William and Gladys Cozad Owens. On January 17, 1953 she married Edward Durst in Canton, Missouri.
She ran her own day care for many years and helped her husband farm.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Dennis Durst and wife Linda of Canton, MO, Pat Pryor and husband Riley of Quincy, Ed Durst, Jr. and wife Karen of Quincy, Paul Durst and wife Ginger of Camp Point, IL; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Theresa Smith and husband Tony of Quincy, and Norma Jean Fisk and husband Ross of Bingham, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Laveta Glascock and Nellie Jordan, and a brother Bill Owens.
Services will be Monday, February 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Cowman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials made to Columbus Road Baptists Church in her name would be appreciated.
