Belinda Lee Wingerter, age 47, of 1821 Luxury Ln., died Monday, February 12, 2007 at 7:55 p.m. in her residence.

She was born September 26, 1959 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of John "Bill" and Sally Hickey Schanz. On October 25, 1996 she married John Wingerter in Quincy, Illinois. He survives.

She was a 1977 graduate of Quincy High School and attended Gem City College. She worked at the Illinois Veterans' Home in the human resource department for almost 25 years. Belinda was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. She was a devoted daughter and sister, and she was a wonderful wife and mother.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her parents; two sons: Tom Wellman; and Luke Wellman, a specialist with the U.S. Army currently stationed in Iraq, both of Quincy; a sister, Trish Blair of Gulf Breeze, FL; two brothers: Bill Schanz and his wife, Melissa; and Richard Schanz and his wife, Missy; three nephews: Ben, Justin and Brady Schanz; a niece, Morgan Schanz; and three step-children: Josh, Melanie and Zach. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; an uncle, Tommy Hickey; and two aunts, Joyce Hickey and Jenny Woodward

Services will be Friday, February 16, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Grandview Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Thomas officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Memorials made in her name to Grandview Baptist Church would be appreciated.
