Wilbur Vaughn Humphrey, age 93, of 2130 Harrison, formerly of 331 Hwy 57, Quincy, died Friday June 6, 2014 at 3:17 pm in Good Samaritan Home.
He was born May 2, 1921 in Ewing, Missouri, the son of Joseph Benjamin and Ethel P. Vaughn Humphrey. On December 27, 1941, he married Verna Hannah Schafer in Palmyra, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2004.
Mr. Humphrey was a member of Bluff Hall Evangelical Free Church and the Adams County Coon Hunters. He was retired from the Electric Wheel Company.
Survivors include three sons, Ron (Millie) Humphrey of Quincy, IL, Bob (Susan) Humphrey of Quincy, and Bill (Kris) Humphrey of Quincy; a daughter, Susan (Ron) Arnold of Meyer, IL; six grandchildren: Leanne (Eli) Lustgarten of St. Louis, MO, Kristopher (Tammy) Humphrey of Quincy; Stephanie Tobias of Quincy, IL, and Erin Humphrey of Quincy, Jennnifer Vincent of Austin, TX and Meredith Humphrey, of Quincy; 11 great grandchildren, Abigayle, Katie and Hannah Cain, Allison, Neely and Landon Humphrey, Alex and Sam Lustgarten, Brielle and Bradyn Vincent, and Kash Miller; two step grandchildren Rick Jones, Ewing, MO, Vickie Henry, Swansea, IL ; and numerous step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers Olin, Joseph, Kenneth, Raymond, Howard and Leonard Humphrey, and a sister, Dorothy Buxman, and a step grandson, Rodney Jones.
Graveside Services: 10 am Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Quincy Memorial Park with Chaplain James Riley officiating.
Visitation: There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the service.
