Geraldine "Geri" Hoffman , age 94, of Quincy, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Bickford Cottage, Quincy, IL.
Geri was born October 19, 1919 in Adams County, Illinois, the daughter of Willis Herbert and Lena Wells Harkness. She married Herschel Hoffman on March 29, 1939 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death April 12, 1999.
She was a graduate of Seymour High School in Payson in 1937. Geri had been a member of the Burton Homemakers for many years and had been an active member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. She was currently a member of Faith Christian Church in Quincy. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was always very social and enjoyed dominos and cards. Geri and Herschel were in a group called the 'Saturday Nighters' that went dancing and out to dinner.
Survivors include three children, Sharon (Bill) Griffith of Northport, FL, Lee (Sarah) Hoffman of Chatham, IL, and Ritchie (Wanda) Hoffman of Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Terry (Jim) Ingram of Florida, Tammy (Mike) Putnam of Kentucky, Tanya (Matt) Pryer of Florida, Tina Thomas of California, Michelle (Michael) Zanin of Illinois, Christa (Kevin) Morton of Indiana, Travis (Liz) Hoffman and Heather (Jeff) Wolfmeyer, both of Quincy; 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Geraldine was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary Hoffman, and a brother, Dean Harkness.
Services: 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Matt Worstell officiating.
