Ruby Irene Loos

Ruby Irene Loos, age 87, of 2130 Harrison, formerly of RR5, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11:10 a.m. in Good Samaritan Home.

She was born December 23, 1920 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Stanley and Maude G. Gilllespie Mann. On November 21, 1939 she married Calvin J. Loos in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2006.

Mrs. Loos was a graduate of Seymour High School in Payson. She was a member of Bluff Hall United Church of Christ where she was very active in the women's group. She was a 4H leader for the Fall Creek Friends 4H Club for many years. She also had volunteered for the American Red Cross. When Mr. Loos retired, they moved to Mesa, AZ for 18 years. They returned to Quincy in 1998.

Survivors include, three sons: Larry L. Loos and his wife, Leona, of Quincy; Warren R. Loos and his wife, Chris, of Camp Point, IL; and Marvin D. Loos and his wife, Deannea, of Normal, IL; three daughters: Karen S. Hill of Downs, IL; Janice K. Waner and her husband, Lyle, of Loraine, IL; and Deborah Demerath and her husband, Russ, of Shiocton, WI; 16 grandchildren: Trent Loos and his wife, Kelli, of Litchfield, NE; Elaine Clem of Stanford, IL; Angela Draughan and her husband, Kenneth, of Jacksonville, IL; Teresa Loos-Tedrow and her husband, Robert of Quincy; Beth Eilers and her husband, Nick, of Golden, IL; Carlene Stambaugh and her husband, Matt, of Bloomington, IL; Cara Peters and her husband, Richard, of Clayton, IL; Troy Loos and his wife, Karen, of Albany, WI; Danelle Donley and her husband, James, of Plainville, IL; Aaron Loos of Normal, IL; Curtis Demerath of Shiocton, WI; Jennifer Mowen and her husband, Darrell, of Baylis, IL; Lucas Waner and his wife, Kelly, of Bowen, IL; Brett Hill and his wife, Amanda, of Downs, IL; Nathan Loos of Bloomington, IL; and Ethan Loos and his wife, Ashley, of Columbus, IL; 21 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son; an infant, daughter, Nancy; a son-in-law, Roger Hill; two brothers: Loren and Charles Mann; and a granddaughter, Racheal Loos

Services: Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Bluff Hall United Church of Christ with the Rev. Rick Welch officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Hall Cemetery.

Visitation: Friday February 29, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
