E. Earlene McClure, age 82 of 1730 Willer Drive North, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at 9:10 p.m. in Timber Point Health Care Center.

She was born September 4, 1925 in Blandinsville, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Millie Reed Kimler. On July 28, 1946 she married Darwin McClure in at the First Christian Church in Macomb. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2008.

She graduated from Western Illinois State Teachers College, which is now Western Illinois University. She won the DAR award, was president of the GAA, and was V.P. of her senior class. She was a substitute teacher at Western Lab School, until moving to Quincy in 1962. She taught Algebra, Geometry, and General Math for over 20 years at the Quincy Senior High School. She was the cheerleader coach and an avid supporter of all athletics. She was an active member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed couples activities with the double ring class. Her hobbies included all kinds of crafts and needlework. She delighted many people with her annually decorated cookie house.

Survivors include, her daughter, Sue Leineberg and her husband, Gerald, of McHenry, IL; her son Ed McClure and his wife, Kathy, of Hickory, NC; a brother, Ron Kimler and his wife, Norma, of Macomb, IL; two sisters: Joy Kimler of Springfield, IL, Lou Ann Herriman and her husband, Lester, of Macomb, IL; five grandchildren: Jason Leineberg; Joseph Leineberg and his wife, Staci; Amanda Wagner and her husband, Kevin; Andy McClure and his wife, Karen; Cheri Merritt and her husband, Garry; seven great-grandchildren: Jake and Cole Wagner, Andi Leineberg, Georgia Leineberg, Johnny Kincaid, Graci Leineberg, Ashlyn Merritt, and several cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Douglas Kimler; two sons: Larry and Tommy Joe; and a granddaughter, Kristi.

Services: Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in Vermont Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Francis Guither officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 23 from 9- 10 a.m.

Memorials: Parkinsons Disease Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice
