Carolyn 'Maxine' Jenkins

Carolyn "Maxine" Jenkins, age 86, formerly of 1430 N 13th, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 10 am in the Good Samaritan Home.

She was born February 2, 1922 in Plainville, Illinois the daughter of Stanley B. and Ava Buell Hibbard. On November 6, 1942 she married Clyde Jenkins, Sr. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1999

She was a 1939 graduate of Quincy High School. She was of the Baptist faith and was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, pecan and mushroom hunting. Maxine also enjoyed working puzzles. Maxine was loved by all and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include three children: Clyde Jenkins, Jr. and his wife Lindsay-Anne of St. Louis, MO, Carol Marcia Jenkins of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Cindy Kenning and her husband Steven of Quincy, IL: 1 brother, Eldon J. Hibbard and his wife Sally; a sister, Mary Wuestenfeld and her husband Dale all of Quincy, 3 grandchildren, Keith Kenning and wife Julie of Fowler, IL, Troy Kenning of Springfield, IL, and Brian Kenning and wife Hollie of Quincy; 4 great grandchildren, Kassidy and Kaleb Kenning of Fowler, and Rylie and Evan Kenning of Quincy; 1 sister-in-law, Faye Hibbard, and 2 brothers-in-law Lawrence Ehrhardt and Larry Vahlkamp, and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Donald Hibbard and Stanley B. Hibbard, Jr. and two sisters Margaret Vahlkamp and Irene Ehrhardt.

Services: 11:30 am Wednesday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Chaplain Steve Disseler officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation:5-7 pm Tuesday at Hansen-Spear.
