Gladys Miller, age 87, of 657 Pawn Ave., died on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 11:45 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home.
She was born May 7, 1920 in Quincy, to Earl and Louise Kiem Abel. She married Francis Miller in 1941 in Palmyra, MO. He survives.
Gladys graduated from Quincy High School. She was a life member of Good Samaritan Home. She worked at Good Samaritan Home for 18 years, retiring in 1982. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Church. She and her husband farmed for 60 years, moving to Quincy in 2001.
Gladys is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Francis. Also surviving are two daughters, Pat Redman and her husband, Jay, of Payson; and Sherry Newcombe and her husband, Mick, of Hannibal, MO; four sons: Ron Miller of Quincy; Chuck Miller and his wife, Ginny, of Quincy; Gerry Miller and his wife, Carol, of Quincy; and Ted Miller and his wife, Julie, of Troy, MO; a sister-in-law, Helen Abel of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren: Raunette Branson and her husband, Vernon, of Quincy; Shawn Video Tribute Miller and his wife, Linda, of Palmyra, MO; Michael Miller and his wife, Nicole, of Savannah, GA; Jeff Redman and his wife, Jane, of Anna, TX; Lori Geerling and her husband, Hank, of Hazelwood, MO; Phillip Miller and his wife, Cathy, of Payson; Courtland Newcombe of Hannibal, MO; Alexandra Newcombe of Hannibal, MO; and Sierrah Miller of Troy, MO; eight step-grandchildren: Ben Speckhart, Isaac Speckhart, Anna Speckhart, Cory Miller, Bradley Bemis, Brandon Bemis, Brian Davis, and Jody Gutierrez; four step-great grandchildren: Dalton Davis, Loren Gutierrez, Sarah Gutierrez and Abbey Gutierrez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents; a daughter, Cindy Miller; and a brother, Russell Abel.
Services: Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Farlow officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation: Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
