Mildred Kistner

Mildred L. Kistner, age 96 of 1260 Jersey, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 6:58 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.

She was born February 4, 1912 in Neodesha, KS the daughter of Robie F. and Marguerite Lane Haynes. On March 18, 1933 she married Audray Russell Kistner in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1979.

She had worked for the county extension offices in Macon, Missouri and Peoria, Illinois then at the ASCS Office in Quincy. She was a member of the Church of God at 21st and Payson Ave. where she taught Sunday School.

Survivors include; a daughter; Joyce Bruner of Quincy, and a son; Dwight Kistner and wife Donna of Quincy, 10 grandchildren; E. Donald Bruner, Jr. and wife Gloria of Livermore, CA, Deborah J. Niederhauser and husband Steve of Quincy, Daniel R. Bruner and wife Heike of Quincy, Douglas D. Bruner of Quincy, Lynnette Stallings and husband Scott of Greenwood, IN, Dwight L. Kistner, Jr. of Fairfield Bay, AR, Dwayne L. Kistner of Overland Park, KS, Donnette L. Nelson and husband Joey of Ligonier, IN, David L. Kistner and wife Bobbi of Olathe, KS, Deann L. Castro and husband Cesar of Spring Hill, KS, 15 great-grandchildren, Lindsy Bruner of Livermore, CA, Jill and Luke Niederhauser of Quincy, Dylan and Felix Bruner of Quincy, Matt and Steve Stallings of Greenwood, IN, Megan, Will and Levi Nelson of Ligonier, IN, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Jadyn Kistner of Olathe, KS, Kilee and Jolee Castro of Spring Hill, KS, also nieces and nephews, including 4 special nephews from Colorado; Gary, Kent, Mark and Bruce Haynes.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Donald Bruner, 2 brothers Virgil and Orrin Haynes and 3 sisters Helen McNeil, Marguerite Thayer and Cora Hass.

Services: 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2008, in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Harris and Rev Joey Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 12. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
