Pauline Ringo Bond, age 97 of 2509 Country Club Dr. North, Quincy, Illinois died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 12:03 a.m. in Bickford Cottage.

She was born October 15, 1911 in Nowata, Oklahoma the daughter of Grover and Grace Moyer Ringo. On June 10, 1939 she married V. Sherman Bond in Quincy. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2001.

She graduated from Hickman High School in 1929 in Columbia, Missouri. She also attended the University of Missouri.

Pauline live most of her life in Quincy and was active in community affairs. A member of the Unitarian Church she served on the board of the Women's Alliance. She was also an active member of the Quincy Historical Society, the Quincy Service League, the Quincy Little Theater and the Quincy History Museum, and a volunteer at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room.

Always an avid golfer, Pauline will be remembered by many friends at the Quincy Country Club for her enthusiasm for the game.

Survivors include, a daughter, Judith E. Bond of New York, NY; two sons, Rodney S. Bond of Austin, TX and Peter R. Bond of Santa Fe, NM; six grandchildren, Laura Williams and husband James of Austin, TX, Aaron Bond of Denver, CO, Ian Bond of Boston, MA, Miles Bond of Fort Collins, CO, Stephanie Smith of Los Angeles, CA, and Robyn Smith of Berkeley, CA; two great grandchildren, Megan and Emily Williams. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gene Ringo.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 20 from 4-7 pm in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Memorial services: Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 2 pm in the Unitarian Church, 16th & Hampshire, with Dr. Rob Manning officiating.
