James Edward "Jim" Johnson II, age 57, of 2810 Ghost Hollow Road, Quincy died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 6:53 pm in Blessing Hospital.

He was born September 16, 1951 in Quincy, Illinois the son of James E. and Catherine Niemann Johnson, Sr. On July 27, 1974 he married Margaret "Maggie" Hibbert in Quincy, Illinois. She survives.

Jim was a graduate of St. Mary's Grade School and was a 1969 graduate of Christian Brother's High School. He was a 1974 graduate of Culver Stockton College with a Business and Economics Degree. He received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Quincy University. Jim served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1970 -1976. He was employed at Moorman Mfg. for 17 years in Market Research and was then employed for 15 years as Chief Information Officer with the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.

Jim was a member of the Church of St. Peter where he had served as an usher. He was a former member of the Kiwanis. Jim's family always came first, but he also loved his church, fly fishing, fly tying, horseback riding and golf.

Survivors also include his son, Jay Johnson of Davenport, IA; his daughter, Suzanne Johnson of Quincy, IL; his parents, and seven brothers and sisters, Jane Reidner and husband Dave of Nauvoo, IL, Cathy Rockwell and husband Gary of Rushville, IL, Bob Johnson and wife Jil of Quincy, Ted Johnson and wife Annette of Quincy, IL, Jeff Johnson and wife Leanne of Katy, TX, Mike Johnson and wife Brenda of Quincy, and Phil Johnson and wife Jill of Quincy, numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: Prayers will be 9:30 am Thursday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am in the Church of St. Peter with Rev. John Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Wednesday at Hansen-Spear with a Wake Service at 4:00 pm
