Hildreth E. Stiles, 94, of 2130 Harrison, formerly of 3930 Holiday Dr., Quincy, died Sunday June 14, 2009, at Blessing Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1914 in Rockport, Illinois, the daughter of Louis M. Smith and Lulu Clark Smith. On September 4, 1984 she married Ralph Stiles in Springfield, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2002.
Mrs. Stiles worked at Illinois State Bank for 30 years and retired in 1985. She was a member of the Quincy Church of Christ and had been a Hospice volunteer. She was an avid bridge player, philatelist, and genealogist.
She is survived by 2 children, Carol Thedford & her husband William of Bedford, NH and Jon Cawthon & his wife Donna of San Francisco, CA. She has 4 grandchildren, Michele Plescia of Kingsport, TN; Sheryl Thedford of Baltimore, MD; Jennifer Sauriol & her husband Rick of Hamilton, MA, and Jazmine Cawthon of San Francisco, CA. She was also blessed with 2 great grandchildren Jack and Julia Sauriol. Her step-children are Marla Urton & husband Harold of LaBelle, MO, Jana Turner & husband Frank of Payson, IL, Lecia Spillman of Florida, and Kevin Stiles of Ewing, MO. Her step grandchildren are Michele Matheina & husband Jeremy and Todd Urton.
In addition to her husband, Hildreth was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Connie Neubauer.
Services: A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 17 at 6:00 pm in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Mr. James Riley officiating. A private inurnment will follow at a later date.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 pm Wednesday until services.
Memorials: Church of Christ or Good Samaritan Home.
