Donna K Simmons of Golden, Colorado, formerly of Quincy, Illinois passed away August 27th, 2014 at 8:40am.
Donna was born in Quincy February 28th 1943, the daughter of Alfred and Janet Miller Ehrhardt. She is a 1961 graduate of Quincy High School and she married Michael Simmons on September 1, 1963 in Quincy.
Donna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved gardening, cooking gourmet meals for her family and friends and hiking up North Table Mountain near her home in Golden, Colorado.
Donna is survived by husband Michael F. Simmons; daughter Nicole McChesney; son Nathan Simmons; eight grandchildren: Don, Nicholas, Emma, Michael, and Ruby McChesney and Fritz, Tacie and Liv Simmons; her mother Janet Ehrhardt; her sisters Sharon Dittmer and Janie Fischer.
She was preceded in death by her father Alfred Ehrhardt and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Elorie (Myers) and Virgess Simmons.
Services: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fieberkorn officiating.
Visitation: 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery
