Donald K. McClelland, age 71, of 625 S. 17th St., Quincy, died Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 12:39 pm in his home.
Don was born December 7, 1942 in Danville, IL the son of James L. and Marjorie Kerr McClelland.
Don served in the United States Navy from 1961-63. For a while he was a truck driver for Cisco and Red Arrow. Don is probably best known for owning several bars in Quincy, including: Easy Street, Cannons, 8th & State, and 5th & York. Most of all, Don loved boats and old and antique cars, especially El Caminos.
Survivors include: his significant other of 20 years, Dona of Quincy; three children: Shiloh (Pam) McClelland of Maywood, MO; Dahna McClelland of Paymyra, MO; and Donald Kent McClelland Jr. of Quincy; five grandchildren: Laikyn McClelland of Cincinnati, OH; Lacie McClelland of Quincy; Brittanie McClelland of Conway, AR; Zachary McClelland of St. Joseph, MO; and Dakota McClelland of Kirksville, MO; three great grandchildren: Zachariah, Elijah, and Gabriel; a brother: Kelly (Pam) McClelland of Liberty, MO; three sisters: Kay (Phil) King of Kansas City, MO; Vicki (Jeff) Pearsall of Indianapolis, IN; and Patti (Bob) Sanders of Kankakee, IL; a good friend, Jerry "Catfish" Ambrose of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian Kent McClelland; and a brother, Mike McClelland.
Services: Don was cremated. There will be no public funeral at this time.
