"When I was young, I remember going to see Grandma with my brother over summer vacation. One summer I remember my brother and I got into a water balloon fight outside. Some how I must have won because I remember teasing my brother from inside the kitchen. Well, I guess he didn't like that and decided to throw a big water balloon at the sliding glass door. Grandma didn't appreciate this as she was soon disciplining my brother and I. My fondest memories though will be the last 8 years my wife and I had visiting with her on numerous occasions. What and incredible lady with so many great stories. Love You Grandma."

"I met Marietta some 25 years ago when we moved to Colorado and became friends with her lovely daughter-in-law, Rozena, and son, Roger. She was beautiful and stately and funny and charming and that never changed. The times I got to be around her she seemed more a contemporary than the Mother of a friend. Marietta enhanced the world in which she lived and certainly was a joy to her family and her many friends. And, my goodness, what an impressive life story and resume - a woman ahead of her time. Her memory will live in all who knew her......."

"I'm so glad I had the opportunity to visit with her several times when she came to Colorado. I'll always remember her appearing at our front door on a Christmas morning with Roger, Rozena, Ryan and Alex and all of them tooting a Christmas song on their kazoos. Very sweet and endearing woman. Sending deepest sympathy and love to all the Baumgartners and family. Love, Nancy and Glenn"
