Wilma Alberta Herschler, 96, of Bickford Assisted Living, formerly of 2833 Bluff Ridge Dr. and 1037 Gerard Ave, Quincy died on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 10:40 a.m. in Bickford Cottage.

She was born January 27, 1918 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of William George and Jessie Alberta Markland Zelle.

On March 31, 1939 she married Melvin L. Herschler in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1995.

Mrs. Herschler graduated from Quincy High School in 1935 and then graduated from Liberty Beauty School, Peoria, Illinois. She was a life long member of the Lutheran Church of St. John, a member of the Ladies Aid Society and sang in the church choir.

Survivors include one son, Michael G. (Mary) Herschler, Quincy, Illinois; one daughter, Cynthia S. (Harry) Zarn of Richfield, Minnesota; four grandchildren Derek Zarn of Burnsville, Minnesota, Leah (Matt) Lunneborg of Eagan, Minnesota, Casey (Leah) Herschler of O'Fallon, Missouri, Cory Herschler of Belleville, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kayla and Lauren Lunneborg of Eagan Minnesota, and Clara Finck, (one on the way in April) of O'Fallon, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Donald W. Zelle and Richard L. Zelle.

Service: 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the Lutheran Church of St. John with Rev. Steve Hayden officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois.

Visitation: 9:00 - 11:00 am on Wednesay (November 26, 2014) in the Lutheran Church of St. John.
