Jason Dillard Mejer, age 45, of 619 Meadow Lark Dr., Quincy, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 6:25 pm in his home.

Jason was born November 24, 1969 at St. Mary's in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Robert Lee and Mary Beth Dillard Mejer.

He graduated from Quincy High School in 1989. Jason received his Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Quincy University in 1995. He then went on to receive his Master's Degree in Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, in 1999.

Jason was employed by Quincy University as an Adjunct Art Faculty instructor from 2000-2011. He taught a Master of Science Graduate Credit Workshops for Teachers at Quincy University from 2000-2001.

He was a member of the Quincy Art Center, Great River Watercolor Society, and the Quincy Racquet Club. He donated many of his artworks for community causes, especially the Arthritis Foundation. Jason was well known as an artist, poet and tennis player.

Jason is survived by his father, Robert (Sue Archambo) Mejer of Quincy; an uncle, Vince (Fran) Mejer of Lincoln, NE; an aunt, Barb (Jim) Velleman of Mesa, AZ; and several cousins.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother, who had established the Ceramics Program and had lectured in Art from 1969-1976 at Quincy University.

Services: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Brother Ed Arambasich officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery

Visitation: 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorials: Quincy University Art Department or Quincy University Tennis Program
