Richard Scott "Rick" Calvin, age 32, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 12:13 am in his home.
Rick was born June 23, 1982 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Jeff and Donette Calvin Jones.
Rick was a Class of 2000 graduate of Payson Seymour High School. He attended Western Illinois University and was currently attending John Wood Community College. Rick had been employed by Titan Wheel for 10 years.
Rick greatly enjoyed missionary trips to Guatemala with Vermont Street United Methodist Church. Much of his time in Guatemala was spent working in orphanages with children. He was active and enjoyed exercising, and watching football. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Rick loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and all of their children.
Rick's survivors include his mother, Donette Jones of Coatsburg, IL, his father, Jeff Jones of Shelbyville, MO, his sister, Kala Jones of Shelbyville, MO, his grandparents, Don and Maria Calvin of Coatsburg, IL, two aunts, Angela Boll of Palmyra, MO, and Amanda (Keith) England of Columbus, IL, four uncles, Scott (Kathy) Calvin of Quincy, Gordon (Judy) Griggs of Pennsylvania, Scott (Shari) Jones of Quincy, and Rick (Amy) Jones of Quincy, several special cousins, Rebecca Calvin, Kelly, Katie and Greg Boll, Cory Calvin and Amanda Rose, Kamrin, Brady and Adalyn England, and a cousin who was like a mother to him, Sharon Barnett of Quincy.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandmother, Colleen Calvin, grandparents, Karol and Boots Jones, and an uncle, Kevan Griggs.
Rick's family invites you to be casual and wear jean and t-shirts in honor of Rick.
Services: 11:00 am Friday, February 13, 2015 at Vermont Street United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gary Livesay and Clif Weisinger officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday February 12, 2015 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
