Michael Paul Liesen, age 61, of 3914 Chatten Ct., Quincy, was welcomed home by his wife and children on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 11:52 am in Blessing Hospital.

Mike was born June 22, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Howard and Flora Scott Liesen. He married Sheryl Ann Kulla on November 27, 1971 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2006.

Mike was a graduate of St. Mary's School and a 1971 graduate of Quincy High School. He had worked as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Pam Printers. He has also worked for Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa. He never knew a stranger, and he had a great personality. Mike enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends. Mike loved all of the holidays. He especially enjoyed large firework displays on the Fourth of July, parties with friends, and decorating for Christmas, both inside and outside.

Because of his profession, Mike had a close relationship with the Catholic churches in Quincy, and he regularly attended all of them.

Survivors include: his granddaughter, Laina Rae Hudson of Quincy, IL; three sisters, Theresa Allensworth of Quincy; Carlene Sapp of La Grange, MO; and Evonne (Bernie) Baker of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Mike was preceded in death by two sons: Jason P. and Grant M. Liesen, and his parents.

Services: 11:00 am Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Rev. Tom Donovan and Rev. Roy Bauer officiating.

Burial: St. Boniface Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 8:45 am - 10:45 am, Saturday March 14, 2015 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
