James L. 'Jamie' Mixer, age 25, of Quincy, died Friday, October 23, 2015, at 9:13 am in Blessing Hospital.
Jamie was born August 3, 1990 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Mark and Sherry Bliven Mixer. He was a 2009 graduate of Central High School in Camp Point. He loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also loved to play golf as well as his guitar and drums. Jamie will be remembered for his vibrant personality. He had a huge heart, and he always did whatever he could to make people smile and laugh. "You never saw him without getting a hug." Jamie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but Amber and Jace were the most important to him.
Jamie was a long time member of Madison Park Christian Church.
Survivors include his son, Jace L. Mixer of Camp Point, IL; the love of his life, Amber Price of Quincy; his mother, Sherry (Shad) Richmiller of Liberty, IL; his father, Mark (Rachel) Mixer of Fowler, IL; four sisters, Brittney (Steven Miller fiancé) Mixer of Quincy, Caitlin Shelton of Fowler, Molly Mixer of Fowler, and Morgan Loos of Liberty, IL; three brothers, Travis Richmiller, Tyler Bliven, and Tristian Richmiller all of Liberty; his paternal grandparents, Doris (Joe) Garrison of Fowler, Beth Schutte of Quincy, and Clark (Sheila) Blair of Kewanee, IL; his maternal grandparents, James (Linda) Bliven of Quincy, Darlene (Gary) Herman of Quincy, and Lynda (Howard) Richmiller of Liberty, great grandparents John and Eleanor Spurrier of Quincy, Don and Sharon Berryman of Coatsburg, and Gordon and Sandy Vickrey of Kewanee, IL; Amber's grandparents, Pamela and Roland Burke of Quincy; and great great grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jamie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Marvin Mixer.
Services: Thursday (October 29, 2015) at 10 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Metz officiating.
Private Burial: Ellington Home Cemetery
Visitation: Wednesday (October 28, 2015) from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
