Samuel E. Crouch, Jr., age 66, of 5038 Hwy 6, Maywood, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at 1:49 am in Blessing Hospital.

Samuel was born February 8, 1949 in Quincy, IL, a son of Samuel E. Sr.and Thelma Shortridge Crouch. He married Rebecca Hoschar on March 17, 2000 in Palmyra, MO. She survives.

Samuel was a 1967 graduate of Quincy High School and attended Ranken Technical College in St. Louis where he studied drafting. He worked in the engineering department for Harris Corporation for forty-four years.

Samuel enjoyed NASCAR, old cars, tropical fish, and roller derby. Most of all he loved his family, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: four children: Tabatha (Lee) Corey of Ewing, MO; Kim (Mike) Whiteaker of LaBelle, MO; Michelle (Travis) Sparrow; and Brandy Crouch both of Quincy; his mother, Thelma Crouch of Maywood, MO; eleven grandchildren: Justin and Samantha Crouch, James Gallaher, Jr., Benjamin and Elizabeth Corey, Paige (Tyrel) Kerr, Amaya and Brylee Whiteaker, and Xzayver, Nevaeh, and Nazayla Crouch; four great grandchildren: Michael Crouch, Merena and Gabe Tournear, and Emmalee Kerr; five brothers and sisters: Sandra Surface of Great Bend, KS; Richard Crouch Brown of Corsicana, TX; Mark D. (Deborah) Crouch of Mexico, MO; Debra Bridgman of Durham, MO; and Gary W. (Terri) Crouch, Sr. of Maywood, MO; his previous wife and friend, Dovie Ann Hooper of Quincy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Samuel E. Crouch, Sr.

Services: 1:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Wilson and Rev. Doug Wilson officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday January 21, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home

Memorials: Shriners' Children's Hospitals or St. Jude's Children's Hospital
