Dale Woodward

Dale Walter Woodward, age 79, of 920 Valley Ct., Quincy, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 1:46 pm in his home.

Dale was born June 17, 1936 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Dale T.and Roselyn Corcoran Woodward. On June 5, 1954 he married Mary Beth "Becky" Merker in Quincy. She survives.

He was a 1954 graduate of Quincy High School. As a teenage he worked on grounds maintenance at Spring Lake Country Club. He had also worked at Knapheide Manufacturing and was a manager at Empire Gas. He then worked 33 years as a salesman for Feed Distributors, Inc, retiring in 1999. Dale and Becky were also the original developers and owners of Hidden Inn Trailer Park at 18th and Koch's Lane.

Dale was a member of the Lutheran Church of St John, was past president of the Twin Oaks Club, and was a member of the Camper Stampers.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Mark (Terri) Woodward of Denver, CO, Lynn (Frank) Ono of Roseville, CA, Calvin "Chip" (partner Tony Blackford) Woodward of Quincy, and Warren (Christina) Woodward of Quincy; grandchildren, Lucas (Jeanette) Woodward of San Diego, CA, Jacob (Diemmi Duong) Woodward of Burlington, KS, Erin Schuyler of San Diego, CA, Caroline Woodward of Quincy, Jillian Woodward of Quincy, a great granddaughter, Jalyn Woodward of San Diego, CA, a brother, Mike (Diane) Woodward of Morton, IL, a sister, Marcia (Mike) Richards of Hannibal, MO, a step brother, Ron Begley of Laguna Woods, CA, numerous nieces and nephews

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Dale T. Woodward, mother, Roselyn Corcoran Woodward, step mother, Lois Woodward, a brother, Daryl Woodward, a sister, Raeanne Joiner, a step sister, Marilyn Veile

Services: 11:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Lutheran Church of St. John, with Rev. Steve Hayden officiating.

Inurnment: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Saturday May 28, 2016 at Lutheran Church of St. John

Memorials: Lutheran Church of St. John or Blessing Hospice and Palliative Care.
