Marilyn Burgdorff, age 89, of Camp Point, Illinois died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 4:33 am in Blessing Hospital.
Marilyn was born August 7, 1926 in Marblehead, Illinois, the daughter of Herman and Louise Brickman Danhaus. She married Glenn Burgdorff on May 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2011.
She was a member of Luther Memorial Church and had recently been attending Camp Point Methodist Church. She worked at many places including local hardware stores, florists and she was a Tupperware dealer for 20 years as well as a homemaker. She was active in the Camp Point Lioness Club and cooked for many years for the Camp Point Lions Club. She was a charter member of Arrowhead (Indian Trails) Golf Club in Camp Point.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy (Gary) Viar and Kay (Brad) Erke, all of Camp Point, IL; three granddaughters, Trisha, Kayla (Fiancé Shaun Barnes) and Jania Erke as well as 2 great granddaughters, Breanna and Dakota Bowen; a sister-in-law, Millie Vogel of California, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Sherlyn and Leanne; two sons in infancy, Stanley Glenn and David Kent and a granddaughter, Michelle Viar; three brothers, Emmet, Albert and Melvin Danhaus, and 2 sisters, Marie Speckhart and Carlene Buehler.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Metz and Rev. Joe Tomich officiating
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery
Visitation: 4:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Hansen-Spear
