Kimberly Sue Smith, age 39, of Quincy, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 8:10 pm in her home.

Kimberly was born May 7, 1977 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Gerald Leffers and Pamela and Rusty Merkel.

Kimberly loved fishing, gardening, cooking, collecting frogs, and spoiling her dog, Dezie..

Survivors include: four children, Taylor Leffers, Lauren, Megan, and Madelyn Smith all of Lewistown, MO; her step-father, Rusty Merkel of Quincy; four sisters, Michelle (Scott) Attebery, Deana Leffers, Lacy (Nathan) Moore all of Quincy, and Shelly (Chris) Lewis of Manhattan, IL; a brother, Dan Merkel of Chicago, IL; her maternal grandmother, Norma Ancell of Quincy; her life long best friend, Melissa Boyer Avery of Massachusetts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Leffers and Pamela Ancell Merkel and her maternal grandfather, James Ancell.

Services: 1:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Dennis officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Saturday July 16, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home

Memorials: To the family for funeral expenses.
