"My Deepest sympathy to Mr. Shaffer and family. Connie was my manager at Cassano's on north 12th street, my 2nd restaurant job. She was a good teacher, she was tough on you and fair at the same time. She always gave 110% to what she did and she expected the same from you when you were at work. That is a lesson I have taken with me and it has carried over to my children as well. She will be missed. Karen Wellman"

"Connie was a true angel who dearly loved tending to the animals each week. She was there week after week, month after month no matter what. Her presence at Homeward Bound Waggin will be missed but never forgotten. She touched the lives of hundred of animals ensuring each one felt safe and loved. From the Animal Rescuers Final Reward Poem: "The arrival here of a rescuer is a great and solemn event, and as a tribute they are permitted to perform one final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort all those poor animals they couldn't place on earth across the Rainbow Bridge." The dog thought for a moment, then said, "I like rescuers." The cat smiled and replied, "So does heaven, my friend. So does heaven." God Bless you, Connie."
