Carroll L. Hoaglin, age 85, of Quincy, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 5:10 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Carroll was born February 2, 1932 in Pittsfield, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Georgia May Workman Hoaglin. He married Viola Seyl on February 18, 1950 in Pittsfield, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2010.
He owned and operated Hoaglin Trucking Company for over 35 years. Carroll was a hard worker and a good husband and father.
He is survived by his three children, Bruce (Mary Lou) Hoaglin of West Branch, IA, Rick Hoaglin of Quincy, and Debbie (Jerry) Schloss of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Whitney (Tony) Maus, Amber (Chris) Huffman, Matt (Belma) Hoaglin, and Sterling Hoaglin; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Elaine) Hoaglin of Pleasant Hill, IL, and Merlin (Edna) Hoaglin of GA; his companion and long-time friend, Marce Baughman of Quincy; and two daughters-in-law, Linda Hoaglin of Colunbia, MO and Laura Hoaglin of Quincy.
In addition to his wife, Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mike Hoaglin, and a brother, Maxon Hoaglin.
Services: 11:00 am Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Greenmount Cemetery.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday July 26, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
