Randy Struck

"Randy Struck. That name brings back fond memories of growing up in Keokuk and attending Cardinal Stritch. I thought of Coach Struck as fun loving with a great sense of humor, and he could also be tough at times, but was always fair. I remember playing field hockey or soccer in the gym during P.E. with Coach Struck. I really liked when I could score against him when he was the goal keeper, because I always thought of him as a gifted athlete. I've been watching for years, somehow expecting him to show up in a revival of one of those Miller Lite commercials with Bob Uecker, yukin' it up again with Coach Chet Doroughty, just like the good ole'days. Mr. Struck just had that kind of memorable personality and sense of humor. Our lives were made richer by having known him. Thank you Coach Struck. May the Lord Jesus bless you and your family."

"Teri and family. My prayers are with you all. I was so shocked to hear of the passing of Randy. I worked with him at Cardinal Stritch for many years. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. He was such a great guy and had such a good sense of humor. One of my fondest memories of Randy was when he and a boys sports team dressed up as California Raisins for a skit and came dancing into the gym to the tune of 'I heard it through the grapevine". I never laughed so hard in my life. It was amazing. Anyway, I am thinking of all of you in your time of sorrow."

"Only knew Randy (Mr Struck) for a year while he was principal at St. Theodore in Flint Hill when my daughter was attending there. I could tell he was a compassionate man and a very kind man and was sad that he was only there a year. Always wished I would have run into him since but now am shocked he passed at such a young age. "My path crossed Randy's only for a couple of years when he was buddies with my brother Mark at Lincoln College. This would have been in the late 70's. They were also on the baseball team together. When I think of him I smile! He was a very fun-loving person and I had a crush on him!!! Unfortunately Mark passed away in 1981 and we haven't kept in close touch but when I think of him--I still smile!!!"
