Ross G. Moore, age 81, of Quincy, died Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 3:22 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Ross was born December 20, 1935 in Quincy, the son of Joseph and Myra Belle Omer Moore. He married Sally DeWitt on July 8, 1961 in Quincy. She survives.
Ross was a 1954 graduate of Quincy High School, and he attended Knox College. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958 where he spent most of his service in Berlin, Germany. Ross then began his career with Moorman Manufacturing as a salesman and over the years he held a variety of positions within the company. Ross was the Manager of Farm Administration and Visitors when he retired after nearly forty years of employment. He then drove for Quincy Public Schools as a bus driver for thirteen years. Ross was a member of the Evening Lions Club where he had been past president as well as a member of Toastmasters. He was involved with Junior Achievement at Moormans and a volunteer at Blessing Hospital. Ross was a long-time member of St. James Lutheran Church where he served three terms as an Elder, served on the Voter's Assembly Board and served on numerous committees.
In addition to his wife, Sally, survivors include: two sons: Todd (Michelle) Moore of Quincy; and Kevin (Stephanie) Moore of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren: Austin (Miranda) Moore of Quincy and Alexandra Moore of Columbia, MO; and Madeline, Sam, and Charlie Moore, all of Bloomington, IL; three brothers: Robert (Sandra) Moore and Richard (Joyce) Moore, both of whom are Ross' triplets; and Tom (Susie) Moore, all of Quincy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents
Services: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017, at St. James Lutheran Church, with Rev. Marlin Rempfer and Rev. Michael Fieberkorn officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery
Visitation: 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
