Rockie G. Pulliam, age 55, of Quincy, was taken by the angels on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 11:36 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Rockie was born February 16, 1962 in Quincy, IL, the son of Robert and Jeanne Walbring Pulliam. He married Betty Lou Kindhart on September 1, 2008 in Quincy, IL. She survives.
Rockie was a proud welder at Knapheide Manufacturing. Before he became ill, Rockie enjoyed camping with his family at Whispering Oaks. Most of all, Rockie loved spending time with his grandchildren. Rockie was of the Christian faith, and within the last year he completely gave himself over to the Lord when he was baptized at The Crossing.
In addition to his wife Betty Lou, survivors include: five children: Issabella, the love of his life, of Quincy; Shalea Bonar of Loraine, IL; Brooke Bonar of Oklahoma City, OK; Brad (Laura) Kindhart of Quincy; and Eva (Bradley) Cookson of Quincy; eight grandchildren: Dakota Kindhart, who was Rockie's partner in crime; Darian Brown; Madalynn Morrison; Mason Weinand; Gavyn Deverger; Nevaeh Weinand; Maleek Bonar; and Malcolm Bonar; a half sister, Sandra (Fred) Doud of Clearwater, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and many life-long friends from the Granview neighborhood.
Rockie was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Roger Pulliam.

"Rockie was my best bud growing up. He lived in Granview and I lived on the other side of Harrison St. Took me 3 minutes to walk to his house. Spent a lot of time there. And we ran around and got into some trouble here and there! He was a great guy! I didn't say 'perfect', but then again neither was I! GOOD MEMORIES!! Rick Goodapple, Class of '78 QHS. P.S. I worked for the Rokita family for many years and Rockie used to hang out there. Mike thought ol' Rockie was quite a character and for some reason started calling ME Rockie! Then he'd say, "Oh,wait, you're not Rockie, you're Rick!". He got such a kick out of that! It stuck for many years after I left Park Bowl, and when I would see him in later years he still called me Rock, or Rockie! Jennie Rokita Kelley would remember him calling me that.
