"Looking up military buddies I find that my really good USMC friend Kent Brenner has passed. Kent and I met up June 1st, 1961 in St Louis, Mo. We both had signed up for the three year buddy / buddy enlistment. Kent's buddy didn't pass the physical and my buddy did not pass either. Kent was from Mo and I from Illinois. The recruiter asked if we wanted to change our buddy / buddy enlistment that day and go forward to USMC boot camp. Both of us eager to serve, we agreed. One of my best decisions at age 17 1/2. We trained at the San Diego USMC recruit training center, went home on leave. Came back and were assigned to the 1st Marine Airwing in Iwakuni, Japan. We served there, came back state side and were assigned to Mirimar NAS, Ca. My mother was diagnosed with a fast growing cancer and passed April 1963. That was the last time I saw Kent, a true friend for I was released early due to siblings at home. I had no idea what happened to Kent until around June 2013 when I found Kent's phone # as I was waiting at the Atlanta airport. I called and spoke to Kent who had retired as I was retired as well but had contracted with the Boeing company. We had one very nice conversation going back all those years. And now I find that Kent has passed. May he rest in peace, great friend and comrade. We did enjoy several years of great friendship as you might say, kids serving our country. Semper Fi friend."

"Lavonne, you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. It is so much harder to lose a husband than most people imagine. God will help you through this. At least, I keep telling my self that is what my father would say."

"I agree with Tim Swanson, Kent was the right person to head up significant change at Quintron/Glenayre. He had faith in me to make me the Production Mgr. during a massive productive Sales Year in the Mid '90s. It was a great opportunity for me and I will never forget that. But most of all Kent was the kind of person you wanted to work for, as he had a big heart and love for all those who worked for him. He once told me that he felt a great responsibility to keep the employees at Glenayre employed because they deserved a place where they could work and raise a family. He was a wonderful human being and will be greatly missed. R.I.P"

"I considered Kent a role model when I worked at Quintron/Glenayre. Kent was polite, honest, hardworking, humble, and someone I wanted to be. Kent had a big role in getting Quintron into surface mount assembly (SMT), long before Glenayre took over. I was working on a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) with Emmerick, Kroeger, & Les Brown. In those days electronic assemblies were built with parts that had leads. On the ?dark side? we made a surface mount (SMT) version of the VCO using a beaker and vapor phase reflowed the solder. The product was good so we revealed what we had. It was Kent Brenner, VP of Manufacturing, that pushed for the robotic assembly equipment to get into this method of electronic assembly. I recall him saying something to the effect 'I don?t know if this works better but it will give our product a high tech look that our competitors will not have.' Kent will be missed but not forgotten? Tim Swanson"
