Thomas R. Lohmeyer, age 89, of Quincy, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 9:34 am in his home.
Thomas was born August 16, 1929 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Walter and Blanche Wells Lohmeyer. He married Joan A. Likes on April 4, 1953 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2006.
Thomas proudly served his country during the Korean War. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include: four sons, Thomas Lohmeyer, Jr., Terry (Donna) Lohmeyer, Richard (Cindy) Lohmeyer, all of Quincy, and John (Terri) Lohmeyer of Foley, Alabama; a daughter, Cynthia Daniel of Quincy; eleven grandchildren, John (Chris) Daniel, James Daniel, Patick Best, Sarah Lohmeyer, Shayne (Mike) Appel, Shaun (Ashley) Lohmeyer, Jason Lohmeyer, Joel Lohmeyer, Melissa Lohmeyer, David Lane, and Shannen (Brent) Woodside; thirteen great-grandchildren, Wyatt Whitley, Wren Harrison, Jordan, Alyssa, Aubrie, and Joseph Daniel, Quenton, Liam, and Makenna Lohmeyer, Carter, Kayden, and Austin Kramer, and Quinn Appel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Thomas was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, David Lohmeyer; three brothers, Walt, Donald, and Harvey Lohmeyer; and six sisters, Helen Tibbetts, Mildred Standbridge-Miller, Virginia Adrian, Alice Simpson, Florence Rosendale, and Betty A. Gille.
Services: 12:00 pm Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. V Lee Amsler officiating. There will be a luncheon at Salem Hall (Salem Church, 9th and State) immediately following the service. There will be no burial.
Visitation: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Saturday October 13, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
