Robert Kaufmann
January 1, 1940 - March 8, 2019

Robert J. Kaufmann, age 79, of Ocean Gate died on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Philadelphia, he has lived in Ocean Gate for many years.
Mr. Kaufmann was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and taught CCD at St. Hugh High School, Philadelphia. He was a graduate of North Catholic High School, Philadelphia, where he later taught night school. Prior to retiring in 1994, he was a self-employed painter and paper hanger.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; his children, Robert Kaufmann and Shannon Ruiz; his step-children, Maria and Charlie Manning and David Gindel; 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kaufmann was predeceased by his brothers, John, Charles and Thomas.
Viewing will be Thursday from 2-5pm and on Friday from 9-10am at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Barnabas RC Church, Bayville. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Brig. Gen. WC Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's honor to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA.
