Norma` J. Bloomberg
August 16, 1925 - January 28, 2019

Norma J. Bloomberg, 93, of West Burlington died Monday, January 28, 2019 at Danville Care Center.
Born August 16, 1925 she was the daughter of Oscar Knox and Harriet E. (Penland) Swan. She married Mark Bloomberg on March 6, 1946. They later divorced.
Norma was homemaker. She worked for IRC/Sylvania and then for Champion Spark Plug for 20 years until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of the Lutheran faith and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis where she played the organ and piano for services for many years and a member of Local UAW #1237.
She loved to take walks, was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She followed Iowa Hawkeyes sports. She was known to have a green thumb, loved to garden and especially enjoyed freshly picked green beans. Her highlight in life was preparing meals for her children. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her two children; Kathy (Bill) Birdsell and Randy Bloomberg both of Burlington; one granddaughter Mary Birdsell of Burlington; one niece Marcia (Ron) Glasgow of Burlington and one nephew Dave (Elsie) Watson of Morning Sun and additional nieces and nephews by marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one daughter and stillborn twin sons.
The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Bloomberg will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21st at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Jerleen Schlesser will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the memorial service. Inurnment will be held at in Kossuth Cemetery, rural Mediapolis.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Hope Haven.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
