David Woodrow Klinedinst
December 31, 1948 - March 10, 2019

David Woodrow Klinedinst, 70 of Mediapolis, died at 6:06 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.
Born December 31, 1948 in La Port, IN, he was the son of Joseph and Bernitha (Huffman) Klinedinst. He married Karen Byers on April 12, 1969 in Wauseon, OH.
David graduated from Swanton High School in 1967. He resided in Delta, OH for 21 years and later Mediapolis, IA for 28 years. He worked as a machinist for Federal Mogul for 32 years and then as a para-educator at West Burlington Elementary School for 5 years before officially retiring in 2015.
He had a strong Christian faith. He loved spending time with his family. He was always a great servant of others and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, telling stories, and was known to be quite a jokester.
Survivors include wife Karen; daughter, Jody (Jeff) Camp of Newark, OH; two sons, Matt (Christine) Klinedinst of Colorado Springs, CO and Mark (Kim) Klinedinst of North Liberty, IA; nine grandchildren, Brody Camp, Briley Camp, Talon Long, Peyton Long, Paige Klinedinst, Jenna Klinedinst, Heather Slaughter, Kaleb Williams, and Wyatt Williams; one great-grandchild, Elizabeth; brother, Brent (Tina) Klinedinst;, and nephews, Brent Allen Klinedinst and David Klinedinst.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Caleb Camp; parents; sister, Grace Ashbaugh; and father-in-law, Vern Byers.
The memorial service for Mr. Klinedinst will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 15th at Lunning Chapel. Jeff Camp will officiate. According to his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel. Visitation will be 5:30 until the time of service.
A memorial has been established.

"Dear Aunt Karen and Family I am so sorry about Uncle David passing away. He was a very awesome Uncle. He was one of my favorite Uncles. It does not seem possible that he has passed away. I will never going to forget when you all came to my Mom & Dad's house - Aunt Karen - Uncle David - Cousin Jody and Mark. Matthew was not born yet. You spent a few days in Walkerton visiting everyone. Jody and Mark was little yet. We all really enjoyed that visit. Uncle David was so orniery but he was alot of fun to be around with and to talk to. He is going to be greatly missed. We will be there with you in Spirit. We will be thinking of you during this difficult time in your lives. You have our Prayers for all of you and I know this is a very difficult time for you all. You have my family's Sympathies.
