In loving memory of

Marvin "Bo" Buss
December 27, 1946 - March 11, 2019

Marvin "Bo" Buss, 72, of Allison, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada while on vacation. He was born December 27, 1946, in Parkersburg, Iowa, to Alfred "Bud" and Lenora (Molendorp) Buss. Bo was affiliated with the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, Iowa.

Bo graduated from Parkersburg High School, in Parkersburg, Iowa in 1965. He married Donna Schmidt in February 1971, in Clarksville, Iowa. They had two sons and later divorced in 2001. Bo worked in the construction/excavating business his entire life finishing his career with Cole Excavating in Greene, Iowa. He loved his job so much, that he stayed retired for only about a week, and commented that he would be pushing dirt forever.

Bo was a man of few words, but his laugh and his smile were infectious. He was very passionate about spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed every minute of it. With Bo, it was mostly about the doing and not the saying. Family and friends were always welcome at his house without an invitation. This included the neighborhood kids that are friends with the grandkids. In the backyard, many pick-up football and wiffleball games were played, as well as Annie Annie Over, campfires in the summer, and "kid gambling" card playing during the winter months. Rarely did a day go by that he didn't see at least one of his grandkids on a daily basis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards with friends and family, and taking Saturday or Sunday drives "touring" Butler County with his girlfriend and companion, Arlana Poland.

Bo is survived by son Scott (Billie) Buss of Allison, son Shane (Lori) Buss of Allison, grandchildren Fletcher, Mollie, Walker, Chet, Griffin and Braxton Buss, girlfriend Arlana Poland of Allison, brother Joel (Diane) Buss of Parkersburg, brother Mark (Marilyn) Buss of Parkersburg, sister Dee (Walt) Scheidecker of Parkersburg, sister Karen (Jim) Weber of Charles City, sister Renee (Bob) Yost of Shell Rock, sister Peggy (Darwin) Miller of Parkersburg, sister Kathy (Lee) Aalfs of Parkersburg, sister Cindy (Roy) Henning of Clarksville and brother-in-law Lee Walters of Parkersburg.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Bonnie Walters, Joyce Hinders, and Jann Wiegmann, brothers Gary and Benne Buss, brother-in-laws Dave Wiegmann and Jim Hinders.
