Carmen M. Dison, 87, of Rochester, died on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Willows and Waters Senior Living after suffering a stroke.
Carmen was born June 5, 1931, to Edmund and Evelyn (Dube) McGinnis in Faribault Minn. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School in Faribault with the class of 1949. Carmen worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester for several years after graduation. She was then married to Richard H. Dison in 1953 for a total of 39 years. The couple had a very busy life raising 4 son's and a daughter. She also worked part time in support of their family business, Dison's Cleaners and Launderers.
Carmen was a member of St. Francis church, active in the church auxiliary, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She loved spending time with her family and playing bridge. Her grandchildren would often see her watching them at school sporting events and dance recitals. She is survived by her five children, Mark Dison of Rochester, Diane (Les) Dison of Eagan, Thomas Dison of Rochester, Charles (Katie) Dison of Rochester, and Gregory (Ashley) Dison of Rochester; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Kristine), Jacob (Crystal), Kierra (Bill), Tate (Carissa), Alissa (Arik), Andrew, Sydney, Riley, and Andre along with ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John McGinnis, Michael McGinnis, sister Jeanne Gray and grandson Hudson Dison.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at The Church of Saint Francis with the Reverend James Berning officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at The Church of Saint Francis on Monday, March 18, 2019. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
