Gerardo "Gera" Hernandez Camarillo
January 27, 1998 - March 25, 2019
Weslaco- Gerardo "Gera" Hernandez Camarillo, 21, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 24th, 2019. He was born on January 27, 1998 to Jose Juan Hernandez Gonzales and Maria Candalario Camarillo Bacio. He grew up in Weslaco with his three older brothers where he graduated from Weslaco East High School.
After high school, Gera spent some time in Wisconsin working in landscaping for a couple of years. He moved back to Weslaco and worked at Little Ceasar's Pizza for a short time.
Gera was very caring and gentle. He loved pets and was rescued stray dogs any time he saw a need. He also loved to draw and had a natural gift for art. He enjoyed listening to music and singing, watching movies, and spending time with his friends and family.
Gerardo is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Faustino Hernandez, and maternal grandparents, Hermelajildo Camarillo Davil and Petra Bacio de la Rosa.
He is survived by his father, Jose Juan Hernandez Gonzales of Weslaco, mother, Maria Candalario Camarillo of Weslaco, brothers, Jose Juan Hernandez of Mexico, Gabriel Jose Hernandez of Wisconsin, and Salvador Hernandez and his wife, Breanne of Weslaco, his beloved dog, Osa "Kush", and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, from 10am-9pm, with a rosary at 7 pm. Mass will be held on Thursday, March 28th, 10 am, at St Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco. Burial will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
