Beulah Jean Neal
September 17, 1925 - March 20, 2019

Beulah Jean Neal, 93, passed away on Wednesday. March 20, 2019. She was born on September 17, 1925, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Lawrence W. and Erma Babe Christofferson Davis. Jean was married to Franklin Junior Neal for over 51 years. They met through letters written during his service in World War II and were married when he returned. They lived in Colfax all of their married life. Jean was a talented homemaker with homemade biscuits, brownies, cherry supreme and special mashed potatoes being family favorites. In her early years, she was quite a bowler and was even on "Let's Go Bowling" Television show. She also enjoyed crocheting and won many ribbons at the Iowa State Fair.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Pat (Dave) Adams of Longville, Minnesota; son-in-law, Earl Hick of Altoona, Iowa; a sister, Beverlee Powell of Crescent, Iowa; grandchildren, Stephanie (Greg) Stewart, Daniel (Heather) Adams, Ruth Hitchcock, Todd (Cindy) Hick, Jason (Dana) Hick; great grandchildren, Brian, Hannah, Sophia Stewart, Haley, Wyatt, Jackson Hitchcock, Tristan, Briley Hick, Kaitlyn, Conner and Riley Hick and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Franklin, daughter, Pam Hick and her brother, Lawrence E. Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in Colfax.
