On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at the Horizon Club in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Gerald Joseph Smith passed away after a brief illness, he was 91.

Born in Chicago, Illinois and a longtime resident of Deerfield Beach, he is the beloved husband of the late Betty C. Smith and Loving father of Donna Faremouth (Charles), Diane Hill (Brad), Dayle Meilahn, Deirdre Sleight (William), Dory Smith Magee (Bruce) and the late Deborah Miller (David). Brother of, Patricia Caldwell. Grandfather of, Dianne Forte, Jordan Strobo, the late Landis Miller, Jillian Hill Carvajal, Colin Hill, Christian Hill, Matthew Hill, Billy Sleight, Frankie Sleight, Jesse Sleight, Kelly Risley, Elizabeth Adams. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, Faith, Quinn, Madelyn, Brooklyn, Mason, Monroe, Hans, Locklyn, Danielle, Brittany, and four great-great-grandchildren, Kendal, Kaz, Colton, and Graham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 S. Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pompano Beach.
