In loving memory of

Jonathan Diaz
January 2, 1996 - March 28, 2019

WESLACO/FLORIDA - Jonathan, "Jonjon", Angel Diaz, 23, passed away in Florida. He was born on January 2, 1996, in Weslaco, TX.

Jonathan was a dedicated father, a loving spouse, a caretaking brother, and a very loving son. Since Jonjon was just a little boy, he had a heart as big as the universe and as strong as steel. He always had to make sure everyone knew how special they were through actions and through words. Jonjon grew up in Weslaco, Texas where he had many friends that he enjoyed hanging out with and playing sports throughout the years. His smile was able to make anyone smile, but his laugh warmed the hearts of those around him and it made his friends and family feel genuine love.

Jonathan became a father at a young age in high school and it was a life-changing experience for him. As a kid he always spoke about how exciting it would be to have his own kids running around one day, he sure knew he was meant to become a father. Jonathan already had a loving and protective heart, but becoming a father turned him into a very hardworking and motivated man. His children were his biggest motivation. He would do anything to make sure his family had everything they needed, so he decided to move to Florida to work in landscaping.

If there is one thing about Jonathan, it is that he has always stood tall and bold and always made sure that his loved ones knew how important they were to him and that he would do anything for them at any time of the day.

Jonathan knew what it was to honor his loved ones, be kind to everyone, but also knew when to stand up for what was right.

He is survived by his mom Monica Garza, his children Jenassy Monica-Marie Diaz, Jonathan Angel Diaz II, Alyssia Anahi Diaz, and Jett James, brother, Ernesto Diaz, sister Brittany Diaz, grandparents Ernesto & Carolina Garza, and Mary Flores and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2019, from 4pm-9pm, with a rosary at 7 pm. Mass will be held on Friday, April 5th, 10 am, at St Joan of Arc in Weslaco at burial to follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.

Mrs. M. Garcia wrote on Apr 23, 2019:

"So sorry for the loss of this young man. May these words of Jesus found in the Bible bring you some comfort: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out; those who did good things to a resurrection of life..." This gives us a real hope of being reunited with our dead loved ones.: "
