Una Mae Snapp
August 17, 1917 - March 30, 2019

Una Mae Snapp, of Oakland and former Carson/Macedonia resident, died on March 30, 2019 at the Oakland Manor in Oakland, IA at the age of 101 years, 7 months, and 13 days. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Macedonia United Methodist Church in Macedonia, IA with Reverend Mike Stevens officiating. No visitation is scheduled but the family will greet friends at the church at 10:30 a.m. before service time. Burial will be in the in the Macedonia Cemetery. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Carson in charge of arrangements.

Una Mae Chancellor, one of six children of Wesley and Olive Esmeralda (Birch) Chancellor, was born on August 17, 1917 in Island Park, Iowa.
Wesley worked for the railroad as a depot agent, so they moved throughout Nebraska often. They settled and ran a restaurant in Carson where Una graduated from Carson High School in 1935.
Una Mae and Vernon Randall "Ted" Aukland were united in marriage on June 1, 1935 and began their lives on the Aukland family farm. They were blessed with two children Connie and Gary. Ted passed away in April 1956.
Una worked for Council Bluffs Savings Bank until 1958. She and Gary moved to Yuba City, California where she married Basil Bankus. They later moved to Salinas, California where she worked for Bank of America.
Una returned to Macedonia in 1968 and in 1988 was married to Merrill Dean Bolton. They lived in Macedonia, where she was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and Sigma Gamma Club. Merrill passed away in 1994.
Una Mae and James Raymond Snapp were married in November 1997 and lived in Macedonia. They later moved to Harmony Courts until Jim passed away in December 2008. These were happy times as they traveled and enjoyed their lives.
Una has since lived at Oakland Heights, with Gary and Betty, then Oakland Manor for her final years.
In addition to her husbands, Una was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter Connie in 2007 and siblings Lucile, Helen, Loren, Glen, and Donald. She is survived by her son Gary (Betty) Aukland, son-in-law Whitey McClain, grandchildren, Terry (Gladys) McClain, Donna McClain, Carol (Jim) Byriel, Ted (Debbie) Aukland, Sheri (Danny) Hodges, Shelli Madison, Charles (Robin) Aukland, 14 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and extended relatives and friends.
Una has lived a long full life and is said to have been a very strong person. She very much enjoyed all of her family and friends especially the grandchildren in her later years.
