Edna Isebrands
March 7, 1926 - March 30, 2019

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Titonka with Pastor Todd Hartsock officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Edna Isebrands was born March 7, 1926, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of Ed and Alice (Boeckholt) Abbas. Her family moved to the Titonka area where she finished her schooling and began working. At the age of 15, Edna went to San Francisco for a year to work in a doll factory during World War II before returning to the Titonka area.

On August 28, 1947, Edna was united in marriage to Clarence Isebrands at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Woden. After their marriage they lived near Titonka. Edna later worked at Beed Hardware for 24 years.

Edna enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and entertaining them all at the holidays. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and quilting. Over the years she made many quilts for different church events. She was an active member of the Methodist Church, serving as Membership Chair and on the Worship Committee.

Edna died Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. She was 93.

She is survived by her children, Diana (John) Bullock of Marion; Judy (Gary) Hackney of Cedar Rapids; David (Suzanne McGinnis) Isebrands of Wagner, SD; Lois (Warren) Shuros of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Tonia, Jennifer, Thad, Jeremiah, Erin, Kristin, Cody and Misty; great-grandchildren, Avery, Katie, Simon, Vivian, Thomas and Lillian. Also surviving are sisters, Esther Dickmeyer of Britt and Fannie Braund of Bedford, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; grandchildren, Matthew and Kesley Shuros; son-in-law, Terry Smith and siblings, Walter Abbas, Florence Govern, Tressie Stadtlander, Teus Abbas, Anna Marie Leeper and William Abbas.
