Judy A. Johnson
February 22, 1948 - April 4, 2019

A memorial visitation for Judy will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 5 to 7 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Algona. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM lead by Pastor Chris Burtnett of First Congregational United Church of Christ. Private family inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Wesley.

Judy Ann Johnson was born February 22, 1948, in Belmond, daughter of Chester and Carol (Norby) Johnson. She grew up in Kanawha graduating high school there in 1966. She then attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City and worked at Frank J. Enbusk Company for eight years.

In 1974, Judy was married to Reuben Skow and to this union four children were born. They were later divorced. Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren, horseback riding, and raising Labrador Retrievers. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Algona.

Judy was diagnosed in June, 2018 with Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma. She died Thursday, April 04, 2019, at Kossuth Regional Healthcare Center under the care of Hospice of the Heartland at the age of 71.

She is survived by four children and eleven grandchildren, Ryan (Becky) Skow and their children Jamie, Jenna and Jacob of Grimes, Joel (Carla) Skow and their children Kylie and Carson of Wesley, Josh (Marti) Skow and their children Caleb, Aiden, and Ethan of Ankeny, and Renee Person and her children Oliver, Grace, and Norah of North Liberty. She is also survived by three siblings, Wayne (Julie) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, her twin sister Janet Otis of Algona, and David (Joyce) Johnson of Kanawha; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin granddaughters Caroline and Katherine; and two sisters, Marlene in infancy and Cheryl Johnson.
