In loving memory of

Rose M Jansen
October 17, 1940 - April 5, 2019

Rose M. Jansen, of Deerbrook, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. She was 78 years old. She was born on October 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Antoniewicz) Marciniak. Rose attended Grade School at Sunnyside School and St. Hyacinth Catholic School, and was a 1958 graduate of Antigo High School. On September 10, 1960, she married James R. Jansen at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2018.

In 1971, they bought a dairy farm outside of Kempster that would be their home for the remainder of their lives. Rose was a hard-working wife and mother who handled hardship with strength, resilience and faith. She was an active member of St. Wencel Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. After the cows were gone, Rose enjoyed working as a dietary aide at Eastview Nursing Home, and then at the Summit Lake Post Office as a Postmaster relief.

Rose was a proud mother and grandmother who supported her children and grandchildren in all their sporting activities and travel adventures in life, joining in when she could. An active athletic booster member she was always organizing the next pizza fundraiser, parade float, stunt night, or cheering her kids on from the sidelines. Except on Wednesday nights, that was her bowling night with the girls. At least twice a week, you could find Rose with her sisters enjoying the bond that only 5 sisters can have.

Rose loved the return of her birds every spring (especially hummingbirds), and her many feeders brought them back year after year. During the summer months she was often found outside in her gardens of flowers and vegetables, or in her many acres of sweetcorn - picking the best for their annual corn roast. She was a crafty person that enjoyed making Christmas wreaths and beautiful floral arrangements. Rose was also known for her famous smoked summer sausage and beef jerky.

Survivors include five children, Bradley (Lori) Jansen of Windsor, CO., Annette (Randy) Igl of Denton, TX, Patrick (Julie) Jansen of Marinette, Shawn Jansen of Summit Lake and Linnae (Matthew) Ignatius of Barneveld; 18 grandchildren; Zachary(Bria), Wesley (Kayla), Nicole, Bradley (Meghan), Jamie, Samantha, Brandon, Emily, Trevor, Sean, Joshua (Rachel), Jade, Jorja, Dan, Isaac, Chase, Jonas and Alexander,6 great-grandchildren and one on the way; four sisters, Josephine Rank of Antigo, Joan Pregler of Antigo, Mary (Ken) Rine of Bryant and Cindy (Richard) Hurlbert of Antigo; two brothers, Albert (Eleanor) Marciniak of Waukesha and Patrick (Rose) Marciniak of Antigo; three sisters-in-law, Betty Marciniak of Wausau, Betty (Roger) Schultz of Antigo and Alice (Ron) Ernhardt of Merrill; a brother-in-law, Donald (Lorna) Jansen of Robertsdale, Ala.
