In loving memory of

Mary Ann Stanbary
November 6, 1931 - April 8, 2019

Mary Ann Stanbary, 87, of West Burlington died Monday April 8, 2019 at her residence.
Born November 6, 1931 in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Anna (McMonigle) Wheeler. She married Neil Stanbary on February 11, 1949 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She was an avid member of West Burlington Christian Church. Everyone knew if Mary Ann was Sunday Greeter, they would receive a hug of all hugs.
She cooked many meals for various group gatherings, birthdays and church events including Jam. Mary Ann enjoyed bowling, crocheting, camping, and most of all cooking and playing poker with her family. Harley Davidson was a big part of her life and she and Neil travelled many miles on theirs. One of her most favorite things to do was picking up her grandsons at 5:00 a.m., packing a breakfast and lunch, and fishing the whole day. Mary Ann's love for cooking showed not only in the jobs she had at Lincolnville Café, Pancake House/Burlington Bowl and Hagerla's Market, but in all the family gatherings. We all knew regardless of where we were, we would have an over- abundance of food.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Jones and Susie Ricketts; two daughters, Gail (Jon) Beckinger of Biggsville, IL and Debbie (Butch) Smith of New London, IA; son, Delbert (Bill) Stanbary of Burlington, IA; nine grandchildren, Cory (Delaney) Richards, Joe (Stacy) Stanbary, Jason (Shelly) Stanbary, Jesse (Heidi) Stanbary, Jammie (April) Stanbary, Maria Stanbary, Eddie (Amanda) Parker, Tami (Dave) Breuer and Cary Pullen; seventeen great-grandchildren, Erec, Alex (Kaslyn),and Amber (Chase) Breuer, Tyler (Kendra) McCain, Chase Richards, Keenan and Max Stanbary, Paige, Hunter, Drake, Adam, Kelsey and Autumn Stanbary, Kyra, Kody, Kasey, Isaac and Alyssa Parker and Tyler; seven great-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Jackson, Lexi, Jaxon, Natalie, Paisley, Emmitt; and several nieces and nephews.

Per her wishes, Mary Ann will be cremated and there will be no services. A stone will be placed at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery in her memory. Family members will celebrate her life at a later date.
