"I knew Joyce for several years from where she was working part-time; I'd see her once a week and our conversations covered every conceivable topic: while we didn't always agree with each other, I felt that she respected everyone's viewpoint and was always interested in new things. I didn't know until today (4/18) that she had passed and it was quite a shock to me, as I've been having health problems of my own and she always wanted to know how I was doing. I would bring her old books I'd found for her to look at, and I saved jokes for her off of the internet and would bring her a printout of the latest ones almost every week. I didn't see her last week as I had a medical procedure on that day; I had meant to print some for her today, but my printer was down. I thought, "Well, I'll just have to wait until next week to give them to her"- that's not to be. I will miss her greatly. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Don't ever miss a chance to tell your family and friends that you love and value them. Jeff Walz"
